Key to our success is the collaborative relationship between industry, universities, and government which all unite in our BioCrossroads initiative. The Indy Partnership provides specialized assistance for life science companies seeking business location information about the Indianapolis Region, including expertise on tax incentives, real estate, networking with local businesses and universities, and data collection.

The Indiana Health Industry Forum is a not-for-profit, private sector organization whose members represent a private/public alliance of manufacturers, suppliers, educational institutions, health care providers, service providers and government. Since it was incorporated in December of 1994, IHIF has worked to define the factors that lead to economic development success in Indiana's already significant health industry, and then to build programs supporting future growth for the industry in the state.

BioCrossroads, Indiana’s life science initiative, is a public-private collaboration that supports the Region’s research and corporate strengths while encouraging new business development. With government, industry and academic resources aligned to accelerate business growth, the Region is fertile ground for investors and entrepreneurs to build new ventures. BioCrossroads also assists with access to capital resources through the Indiana Future Fund I - a $73 million fund of funds and the Indiana Seed Fund I.

The Indiana 21st Century Research and Technology Fund was created in 1999 by the General Assembly to stimulate the process of diversifying the State's economy by developing and commercializing advanced technologies in Indiana. The Fund makes awards in two broad categories: Science and Technology Commercialization and Centers of Excellence. In addition, the Fund provides cost-share on behalf of Federal proposals submitted by Indiana-based entities.

The Indiana Venture Center, Inc. is a privately funded not-for-profit organization serving as a catalyst for the creation and growth of entrepreneurial, high growth businesses in Indiana. The Indiana Venture Center will work to increase both the number and the quality of successful entrepreneurial companies in Indiana and provide new career opportunities to students and out-of-state alumni.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation (IEDC) is the State of Indiana's lead economic development agency. IEDC was officially established in February 2005 to replace the former Department of Commerce. In order to respond quickly to the needs of businesses, IEDC operates like a business. In an effort to provide businesses with the most complete range of services, state economic development agencies that were previously separate from the Department of Commerce have been incorporated into the IEDC organizational structure. With its new structure and improved tool-kit resulting from a successful legislative effort undertaken by the Governor and the Indiana General Assembly during the 2005 legislative session, the IEDC is equipped and ready to make Indiana competitive in the 21st Century economy.

Created in 2003, the Bloomington Life Sciences Partnership is dedicated to creating life sciences jobs and growing life sciences businesses in the Bloomington/Monroe County region. The partners include: Indiana University, Ivy Tech State College, local life sciences business, healthcare delivery providers, economic development directors, local elected officials the Indiana Health Industry Forum, and BioCrossroads.
